I strive to provide my customers with the best wedding photography experience they can get. High quality and especially authentic pictures of the entire wedding day are my main goal.
This is what I do best and also one of the main reasons for people to book me on their wedding day. My camera creates huge files.
Managing and editing all these files requires a performance level exceeding that of my old storage solution. I was searching the internet to identify Direct Attached Storage solutions offering Thunderbolt connectivity. In conjunction with Retrospect for data backup, Drobo easily integrates into any backup strategy.
Drobo was designed from the ground up to be simple enough for anyone to use. Use a Drobo Direct Attached Storage DAS to edit high-definition videos, store a large photo library or protect terabytes of data from a hard drive failure to deliver speed, expansion and protection to your workflow. Use a Drobo Network Attached Storage NAS for data sharing, remote access and easy integration into any disaster recovery infrastructure. Drobo is compatible with Lightroom and Photoshop for all of your editing workflows.
With Drobo you can start with the storage capacity you need and scale as your photo library increases. Using both the Drobo 5D3 and ON1 Photo RAW I not only can access and organize my files extremely fast and efficiently, but I also can rest easy knowing that all my files are automatically being backed up for me by the 5D3. Cloned them just in case , then inserted them as recommended in Drobo Article AA As you expect, respondents say Apple and Drobo blame each other.
What seems to be working now was rebuilding the directory with DiskWarrior. Sounds like some really frustrating times.
I use Chronosync to keep incremental backups of older data on other drives. I just love how the Drobo grows with your data storage needs, provides a first level redundancy for backup and has that SSD accelerator to boot. This is even more of a problem when editing directly off of it into Capture One Drobo has been known to have these problems for years.
I remember when they were flawless and photographers were in love with them. The annoyance will translate into more waiting. At the same time though, I think everyone just wants the best unit that they can get. The Drobo 8D gets three out of five stars. Want one? The prices vary depending on the configuration.
